grayed out dynamic simulation

When I click on the dynamic simulation button in my assembly file, the list of joints and parts goes grey and I cannot edit, delete or add anything. How do I fix this, please help.

Hi! I believe you need to close the the animation player and get back to the edit mode.

Note the position of your Simulation Player playhead.

You need to Rewind and go back to Construction in the Simulation Player.
