Graphics Driver error

Hi all

 

When opening Inventor 2023.1, this error message has appeared on several of our machines (all identical machines):

Graphics Driver stopped responding. Inventor will now exit. Please check the "Software graphics" option in "Tools - Application options - Hardware".

Once Inventor is restarted there is no issue and it runs just fine but this happens on an almost daily basis.

Any ideas?

Hi.  Can you verify that the drivers are all up to date?  Have you tried the suggestion in the warning message to see if it made any difference?

Everything up to date and checked. It's strange how once Inventor is restarted it works just fine.

@Stephen__Hall  What graphics card? Which driver version? Which OS?

Have you installed all Windows updates?

Running Windows 10.

Card is a 6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060. I'll double check regading updates etc. but as far as I know everthing is up to date.

Hi Stephen,

 

Please use Nvidia Control Panel to set the graphics card profile to Studio or CAD. Do not use any gaming or hi-performance profile. It may destabilize the graphics operations.

Also if your CPU supports Intel Hyper Threading, please turn it off. Inventor does not utilize such feature. It can lead to instability.
