Generative Shape hangs on start-up

I have a part that when I try to go into the Generative shape, it hangs up.  The only way that I can stop it is to "End Task" in the task manager.  In the task manager, the Inventor process is working and the memory usage is going up and up.  If I let it run long enough, it will use all my system memory and crash.  Here is what I see when I use the generative shape tool.

I have tried to use the Generative shape tool on other parts and it works fine.  Its just this part that seems to be causing a problem.  I have also tried to copy this part to a new filename.  The shape generator hangs on the new file as well.

I have tried:

Rebooting several times.

repair install on Inventor.

opening it in 2018.1.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kirk

Hello Kirk,

Drag the End of Part all the way up underneath the Origin folder.

Start the Shape Generator. You will enter the Shape Generator environment.

Remove the existing analyses.

Close the Shape Generator environment.

Drag the End of Part back to where you want it.

Start the Shape Generator again.

Solved?

Not sure exactly how the model got into this state, but this gets it workable again. I have to recreate the loads, constraints and the preserve region, but that is much better than having a model that I can't even work with.

Thanks.
