Gear Design / 3D Printing Question

Hello. I am using the Gear creation command (under the Design Menu in an Assembly file) to create a worm gear / spur gear combination. The gears will be eventually printed out on my 3D printer. However I do not want them attached because then they are printed attached and are not seated correctly therefore unusable. My question is how do I go about separating the gears from each other in the assembly file so I can 3D print the parts out for use in a working model? Thanks for your time.

The gears are placed in a sub-assembly.

Simply drill down to the part level and right click select Open.

Then Save Copy as stl each individual part.

BTW - An assembly file (*.iam) is only a list of hyperlinks to the part files (*.ipt) and a record of assembly constraints (and a bit more).

You must include the part files.
