Another (rainy) Friday, time for some pictures. Smiley Happy

I've been playing some more with the Celtic Knot i showed last week, trying to get it to transfer properly from Inventor > 3DS Max > Mudbox.

In the end i succeeded in getting a decent result for sculpting in Mudbox, but i think the amount of detail was just too great for 3DS Max to handle the amount of subdivisions required.

So it looks a little less defined in my 3DS Max render:

This is how i modeled it in Mudbox:

Still, it's pretty funny to see how much a displacement map can accomplish:

But i'm going way off-topic in regards to an Inventor model, so i'm going to call this little project finished.

There's a lot more i hoped to accomplish with this, but it's taking a lot more time learning new software and figuring out how to deal with the issues of having 3 pieces of software interact with eachother then i expected.

Hope there will be more interesting posts from all of you.

Have a nice weekend!

Hello,

Today i have modeled a Soss hinge. For a box i need to design.

I placed it in an assembly, and added all the constraints, and joints. So i would move as the real hinge does.

I am quite pleased i got it to work, so thought i would post on here.

This is my first screencast so hopefully it works.

Thomas.

We had an intern @Anonymous working for us over the summer - here are a few images he created while working on a (long overdue) project to update some of the standard Inventor samples.
