Hey Everyone, Happy Friday the 13th. Smiley LOL

I can't think of a better time to make this theme announcement, so i'll start off with it:

Upcoming Friday pictures Theme:

When: 27th of October

What: Halloween themed Friday pictures

Make anything you think is appropriately themed for that holiday... Pumpkins, ghosts, spiders...

Join in the fun, we all love a little Friday distraction!

Speaking of time, my pictures are very related to that...

I'm still tinkering with the fluid simulation, so i grabbed the hourglass i made in the past and worked on getting fluid to run through it.

It's coming along pretty good, but calculation on the fluid does take quite a bit of time and i need more frames to make a nice animation...

So for now i just made a couple of stills, which rendered in a reasonable amount of time.

And here's a closeup of the fluid:

I also made another fluid animation, but i'm only posting that as a bonus image here since there is no Inventor related model in there.

(it's just a ball of fluid against a simple plane in 3DS Max, i was testing the Motionfield modifier...)

That's it for my images this week, hope you like them!

Also, don't forget i'm running my Banner contest.

Thanks to the people that already submitted an entry, love the creativity i'm seeing already.

There's still time to join, read about it here:

Enjoy the weekend! Smiley Very Happy

@-niels- That fluid ball animation looks crazy! Might have to start looking into some of that stuff myself.

Anyway, here's a quick render i produced for a customer the other day.

Hi everyone,

I see you get the hang of the fluid simulation Niels! I still use realflow for that but looking at the animation 3ds max can do cool stuff too! I looked into some post render methods in photoshop to enhance the render. Altering the exposure, hue/ saturation, bloom etc. really can give great results! Anyway here's the result of playing around with it (maybe overdid the blooming a bit). Not a spectacular model as it's just nails but it looks pretty realistic if you ask me.

Banner contest, Halloween editions.... aargghh I want to participate in all but I'm afraid I don't have enough time on my hands. I'll give it a shot though! Very cool idea about the contest Niels!

Have a great weekend!

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I have posted something, and I am a little late.... Smiley Embarassed

Had to try the new fluid modifier in 3ds Max and it is awesome, but.... like @-niels- said, it takes a lot of calculation time so I just finished a little watertest.

It is poor quality and certainly needs more practise, but it is also very very very nice to work with! Smiley Very Happy

Wish you all a nice weekend!
