Very nice model!

This is mine. The fence is a 3D dwg file from http://www.orsogril.com: I
converted it from DWG to (splitted parts) STEP in AMDT and from STEP in
STL in Inventor, to be imported into Blender.

Stainless steel version. (I rendered just a cropped part of the view to
save time, then I overlapped it to the other image).

I have a very basic animation video that I toyed around with earlier this week for the boss to see specific design intent. Up to this point, I don't get a lot of extra time (being a stand alone drafter/designer) to try the IV studio and learn how to use it. Maybe someday..............

Nicely done! I used to design mining loaders -
similar componentry like planetary wheel ends, huge axles, wheels, and tires,
etc.

What keeps the tire and ring assembly from slipping
on the axle? Or, is that a proprietary piece of information?

Hello Bill,
I would guess that it is a split ring and the wedge shape cross section with its little lip together with the pressure inside the tire keeps it fastened on the rim. But lets see what the designer tells us tomorrow morning.

Good Guess,

The wheel is bolted to the axle, but the wheel
components are held in place by the air pressure in the tire forcing
them onto the tapered mating surfaces

The video isn't the greatest via the web, the
original was animated at 1280x720 (Half HD 😉 and run on a 46" LCD, drew a lot
of attention at our last tradeshow.

I've been experimenting with Inventor into Showcase and seeing what the "cost" is to get the right colors/appearances for the end result I want. Inventor appearances do not look the same in Showcase, so, there is tweaking involved.

The image with the wooden floor is non-ray traced.

The image inside a building is ray traced.

so there are a bunch of pre-requisites that would have to be completed first.

DSG 421 and 422. The students are pretty much pros by the time they get to senior level classes.

I will try to attach a simulation example on Monday.

I received my BSME several years ago from Texas Tech University. I successfully fought to replace I-DEAS with Inventor. I love it.

I did not realize I was communicating with a professor. I appreciate your contribution to our occupation. We need more young (female) designers in Houston oil and gas. The font on my new prints are getting bigger as the people reading them keep getting older. Please help!!!

I need the pliers to model a fixture. Any chance I could get a copy of the 3D model.
