Freeform Tab

I'm exploring freeform modelling in Inventor 2018.  Most of the tutorials refer to a "Freeform" tab that is supposed to be in the ribbon.  I do not get the tab.  I've attached a screenshot of what I do have in the ribbon.  Please help me access this ribbon tab.

Thanks!

Hi,

If you right click on the ribbon, go down to "Show Panels", is "Create Freeform" checked?

Actually scratch that...i can see the freeform logo.

If you look at this picture, you'll see an arrow button that i've highlighted with a red square, click that 3 times and it'll cycle through ribbon appearances. You should then see all the freeform options.

After you've created the first free form, the full editing options will be available.

I really do appreciate your trying to help me with this!!  Truly!!

However -  clicked it three times and I STILL don't get the freeform tab at the top.

Once you start creating a freeform shape all of the editing options will appear under a green tab at the top

I DID create a freeform shape - that grayed out rectangle box behind my cad overlay.  But still no freeform tab in the ribbon even when checked??

I'm sorry to be driving you crazy with this.  Thanks for your patience and support.

Edit Freeform?

Attach your *.ipt file here and end all doubt.

Edit Freeform.pngIs there a logical reason that you have the feature browser (Model in 2018) hidden in your images?

It's okay! We're all here to help 🙂

First of all, make sure that "Browser" is ticked (see image)

File Browser.png

Once that's checked you should now have the file browser on the left. Double click the freeform you created previously and the freeform options should appear.

Well ----  everyone please bear in mind that I'm a tried and true autocad user - but very green in inventor.  Please be patient with a newby.  🙂

I DID check model box at the "Cad Whisperer" question as to if there was a good reason to have it not checked.

Ahh i see, didn't realise that in IV 2018 they changed "Browser" to "Model" on the user interface drop down.

If you check that it should work now 🙂
