Hello,

I have a problem with the frame generator.

1- I create the sketch

2- I place this sketch on a assembly

3- I click on insert frame

4- I select the profile type and the lines in the sketch

2.JPG

5- After click "Apply" inventor doesn't work. I wait a lot of time but nothing happen. It's all the time as you can see in the next picture

I already check:

- Other profiles that I have. And I have the same problem

- Change the library. Same problem

- Create a new profiles and use it. Same problem

- Change the project. Same problem

- I've created a normal part using the content center with different profiles. I could create it  without any problem.

Do anyone has any idea about why in my frame generator doesn't work?

Thanks!

Hi @josalgper.

Please tell us which versión of Autodesk Inventor you Use. Maybe you have to update your Inventor service pack to the latest for your version.

You have prompt for file name on so when you hit apply you are not seeing that dialog. So most likely it's off the screen. Select apply after you place a member.. then. Alt+spacebar, m key, left or right mouse button, move your mouse. Does the prompt for filename dialog appear at your cursor?

Hi! Another possibility is the Content Center is not set up correctly. Could you try a simple test and see if it works for you?

In the same assembly, go to Assemble tab -> click the downward arrow below Place command -> Place from Content Center -> try select a part from CC dialog and place it in the assembly.

Does it work?

Many thanks!

@Fouad-l I'm already download and install the last upload from Inventor 2017 windows x64.

@Mark.Lancaster I press the keys that you told me after click Apply. With Alt+space appear the dialog that you can see in the right (image). If in this dialog I click "Cerrar", de dialog to select the profile and the sketch appear again, but anymore. When I click key m, the symbol to move appear, I move a lot my mouse with the right or left button pressed, but new dialog appear.

@johnsonshiue I can place any items for the CC, Inclusive all the profile for structures.

@johnsonshiue @Mark.Lancaster @Fouad-l I just discovered something. If I try to insert a new profiles in a structure that is already created (image 1). I follow all the normal steps and when I press Apply anything happen like in the other Assembly (image 2). But if I press the key Esc, suddenly inventor start to work and the profile is generated (image 3).

I tried to do the same in the Assembly without any structure and when I press ESC, the process to generate the structure is cancelled and the profiles aren't crated.

Hi

As @Mark.Lancaster said.

But When you click apply button.  Press Alt + Space  and select Move (Mover en Spanish) from the menu.

Figure-8.stubbornPC.jpg

After that you should press the keys to move the window and bring it to your display.

Try pressing the four directions until you get it on screen and press Inter.

I think this will work for you.

This happens because when you press apply to create a new structure assembly, inventor asks you the name and location of this assembly as the skeleton sketch. skiping this step will bort the process

In existing assembly this step is already don.

The problem i think, it is reduced to making that dialogue box apear in your  screen.
