Frame Angle

I am using Inventor 2017 and am new to frames.  I'm trying to insert a frame using angle frames.  When I select an edge the angle frame comes in at the wrong angle so I change the angle.  When I select the next edge, the frame comes in at the last angle. When I change the angle, all the frames change to that angle.  How do I change the angle of the frames individually?

Hello,

Would it be possible to share a screenshot (or even better, attach the Inventor files) so that i can have a better look?

I might be a bit confused by what you're saying, but it sounds like your workflow for creating frames might be incorrect.

That being said, i believe each frame member will have its own co-ordinate system (X,Y & Z triad), so rotational/positional translations across multiple members may not give the same result for all.

Here is an image.  When selected the first edge I put in 180 deg.  When I selected the second edge it comes in at 180.  I want it to be 0.  However, if I change it to 0, the first one also changes to 0.

You have to first apply (apply button) the frame members you want at 180 and then change it to 0 and apply the frame members you want at zero (0).

Thanks for sending that pic. It looks like your workflow is okay, but like i said, each member has its own co-ordinate system.

Here is a pic of a frame i'm currently working on:

Frame1.png

Here is the same frame but put through frame analysis, also showing the co-ordinate system for each member, notice how each members coloured arrows are in different directions?

Frame2.png

If multiple members have their co-ordinate systems misaligned then you must edit them individually, then press apply and do the next one
