Finding Recent documents for another user Windows 10.

I am using Inventor professional 2020 on windows 10 V1909 that I have full Admin rights to.

Had a coworker who left the job and didn't leave a note where his recent projects were stored.

I was hoping there was a file I could see their recent history of open files... I cannot sign in as his username as it is a windows domain account.

Try this:

But use "HKEY_USERS\<anySID>" while signed on as an admin, instead of the below "\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\":

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion24.0\Recent File List

(version 24.0 above is for Inventor 2020 I believe... it varies depending on your Inventor version)

I tried Remotely and I could not see their user SID listed in the registry...

I'll have to try again later as local admin.

I'm assuming you use a different project file for each project?

Can you just search for IPJ files on the network drive where all your work is stored and then filter them by date?

I tried as local admin and wasn't able to see the SID listed in the registry. So I will have to revert to filter by *.ipj files. 

I was hoping for a magnet to help me find my "needle in a hay stack"
