File size help

I have a large assembly and I was wondering if someone with more experience could help me by making it usable... I have enough RAM and cache memory to support inventor but it is running at an inch per hour (as opposed to a mile a minute)

I have considered shrinkwrapping the sub-assemblies but otherwise I don't know how to fix the problem

Welcome to the forum.

Take a look at this link.

One suggestion might be to create a level of detail to suppress the hardware and components not needed for

assembly manipulation.

You also may want to see how the parts were modeled. I have a 263,000 part assembly and can spin it like it was one part. I found that some models if not done right will kill the best machines out there.

I found those that use autocad data into Inventor will have the most issues with file size and performance..

Can you post screen shot of the assembly component tree?

Can you attach one of the larger parts here?

Can you attach one of the sub-assemblies here?
