I am trying to perform some FEA on a part I have created for my final year project at uni, but I am getting an error when creating the mesh for the FEA.
The error message is "Mesh failed: Face failure..." but I am not sure what this means or how to fix it. Any ideas? I have attached the screen shot of the message and a copy of .ipt if anybody can have a look at it for me?

Why are there so many errors/issues in your model. There are over 50 issues with this model. I would start with "Extrusion7" and create a simpler version of this. Rather than having all the profiles in the sketch. Create the sketch for the two profiles, extrude the shape and then use the Pattern Feature with the circular option to create the remainder of the ribs around the plate.
Correct the remainder of the issues the little while circle with the "i" in the centre and the yellow triangle with the "!" in it. If Inventor is having issues with the solid model, the meshing function within the FEA will have similar issues.
Running the mesh within Simulation Mechanical, I am seeing issues with the oil-passage hole in both the Inventor model and Simulation Mechanical. Simulation Mech is showing issues with two of the inside ribs junctions.
It would be easy within Sim-Mech to delete the surfaces and repair them with new surfaces, unfortunately Inventor doesn't have these tools.
Without looking at the model, it could be a number of items. I generally suppress all items not directly related to the analysis.
Look for any items with sharp edges/points. Possibly try deriving the model to a single part and try the derived part.

assembly is downloaded from my company, so almost of the parts are fixed without constraints.
but it doesn't matter since the stress simulation is the point.
parts/assemblies such as door/side panel/cooler, I have added them and the constraints as well.
Problem solved.
I have recreated the problematic part using "sweep" instead of "revolve".
the "mesh failed. Face failure" error is gone. yeppi
