FATAL ERROR: Schema Migration occurring without Schema Version Change???

We're running Inventor 2024 without Vault.  We have a project we wanted to duplicate so we Pack & Go'ed it to another folder keeping the paths.  Then tried to use Design Assistant to rename the parts and assemblies but got a message that all the files need to be migrated to the current version.  So then used Task Scheduler and migrated all files to the current version.  Then went back to Design Assistant and renamed all the files (there are a LOT of files).  When that got done everything looked good..... until I tried to open it.  Then I got FATAL ERROR: Schema Migration occurring without Schema Version Change a couple times.

Looked online and saw everything from it was the antivirus software to just start  over.  So I got the idea to Pack & Go the new file to see if it would clean things up.  Nope, the Pack & Go copy gave the same error.  Soooo, how do I recover this or how is a better way to do that?

Hi! I suspect some files, if not all files, may have been corrupted due to certain operation or interruption. If you use Vault, you may want to get the prior versions. Or you may find the last saved copies in the \OldVersions\ folder.

Many thanks!

Hey @johnsonshiue, thanks for the info but we do not use Vault.  I was about to delete all the files and then I decided to try opening each sub-assembly individually and found one assembly that gave me that error.  Then I opened the components under it and found a weldment bracket caused the error.  Re-Pack & Go'ed that, renamed it, copied it over to the new project and TAH-DAH!  all is well now!  Whew.  Saved me a ton of work.

This occurs also on some of our devices. We use the same Inventor Professional and Vault Professional versions on all of our devices (Vault 2025.3 and Inventor 2025.3.2). What I do have noticed is that it only occurs on our Windows 11 devices, and (I am almost certain...) that it occurs only on the devices with Windows 11 24H2. We have had so many Windows Update and Driver Updates related issues ever since changing from Windows 10 to Windows 11 that I am not surprised that Autodesk -apps are also having issues.
