Fanuc v. Motoman Robot, Drag Behaves Differently

Hello,

 

I have some robots for a project. I started by importing the Yaskawa/Motoman robot and constraining with joints and angles. I suppress the angles for each joint I want to rotate. I placed into my top level assembly and I can drag all degrees of freedom with no issue. I then implemented the same steps to the Fanuc robot, placed into my assembly, and I can only rotate J1 by grabbing that part. I cannot grab the end of arm tooling and drag like I could with the Motoman, or any other joints for that matter. Within the Fanuc assembly, I can drag just fine though. 

 

If I make a new assembly and then place both robots grounded, they drag fine. It problem may pertain to the size of my top level, the number of component patterns therein, and possibly the number of degrees of freedom within my top level. But this only seems to affect the Fanuc robot. I can keep pasting additional Motomans and they all keep dragging just fine. Does Inventor simply not like the yellow robot?

This is quite odd behavior. I was meticulous to ensure the robots were constrained the same way. Is there some difference I am overlooking? I attached a Pack&Go for each assembly.

 

Any help with this would be most appreciated. It is no fun having to constrain the robot into each new position for visualization.

Hello,

 

Looks like my mistake on this one. I suppressed J6 angle and locked down the direction vector for my tooling with angles, and then it drags fine in the assembly. I started going down a rabbit hole with this one because I kept deleting parts for testing, so I had just the base, J1, and J2 and I could not drag the arm. It works pretty well to have the tooling drive all the axes as long as the tooling is well constrained to the origin.
