Extrude Cut in Frame Generator Assembly to selected solids

In assembly file, I have used frame generator in which there needs to be notching of few components whose shape are determined by other assembly components. The Extrude function is not allowing me to choose the Solids from which material is to be cut. Can you guide me on this?

@garyoak161196 you can't select solids in an assembly cut, only parts. You choose parts by right clicking on the feature after its creation and adding or removing 'participants'

Use iLogic Copy? Please consider voting for this long overdue idea (not mine):https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/string-replace-for-ilogic-design-copy/idi-p/3821399

HI Gary, please also be aware that cutting things at assembly level will not carry through to individual part files, they only live in the assembly in which you made the cut.

So, is there a way of building dependent dynamic sketches and extruding within multiple solids?

With Frame Generator specifically, you would have keep double clicking to dig right down to that specific frame member to edit in place. Then use project to project geometry from the assembly files to use for your notching.

This would make the parts adaptive. This is fine for a few cuts, but really this method needs to be used sparingly for it to be successful. Too many adaptive parts can lead to problems later on.
