Extend or Eliminate the 30 Day Expiration for Collaboration Models?

All,

Good evening!  I've been working with a client who really likes the new Inventor Collaboration views, but is curious if there is a way to make the collaboration view permanent?  I noticed that I could get a link to the view that didn't say anything about expiring, but am not sure if that makes a difference.  If anyone can enlighten me on what options are available here, I would really appreciate it.  Thanks in advance for any assistance, hope all is well and have a most blessed night!

Please give a kudos if helpful and mark as a solution if somehow I got it right.

Hi Pete,

I could be wrong. I don't think there is a way to extend it, since it may be hard-coded. Let me add @xianhua.chen and @DannyHubbard to the thread.

Hi Xianhua and Danny,

Do you know a way to extend the share?

Many thanks!

Hi Pete,

Currently there is no permanent option, but the collaboration views could be extended to 30 days as often as you using the “Extend” button inside Inventor Shared View panel or Autodesk Viewer platform, so in theory the collaboration views could be shared as long as you want, you just need to "Extend" it manually before it expired in 30 days.

Any chance we can extend it for 6 months or 1 year? It is not sustainable to be extending hundreds of Design views just because there is no permanent option.

I agree - it is effin' ridiculous that you cannot make a design view permanent.

Once we complete our design in Revit we share them with our clients on Viewer, which they love. However, they want access over the course of construction, which can take years.  Renewing it every 30 days is just one more stupid little thing to keep track of.

It is so annoying it we are seriously considering canceling our use of Viewer completely to find another solution that allows us to share our designs permanently.

At the very least can we get an "extend all" button. Feel pretty dumb scrolling and clicking for 2o mins...
