Exporting to DWG with layers for materials

I have a client who works in 3d autocad. They separate all of their drawings out into layers depending on the construction material.

When I export a model to send to them, I have to go through it and manually select each item to change the layer. 

Is there a way to automate this process?

Hi! I suspect this will need to be done via iLogic/Inventor API. Please share an example (Inventor files) and the desirable layer mapping. Experts on Inventor Customization forum might be able to comment further.

So, this is an example, each inventor part is set to the materials on the leaders.

When I export it to Autocad, I have to manually create the layers you can see, and assign the pieces to them. With 4 parts it's fine, but with hundreds, it gets a bit tedious!
