Hello,

I'm trying to figure out, how it is possible to export part .ipt from Autodesk inventor to  .FBX and .OBJ

Any link, advice, guide or example would be helpful

Hi, To import to obj follow standard export procedures

1.jpg

Then select obj in file type

As a recommendation select options and modify the quality of the mesh to generate, for better export quality

Regarding the FBX format please check these threads.
Apparently from Inventor is not possible, but you can achieve it through 3DS Max.

Hi, were you able to resolve the issue of not seeing the .OBJ format listed in your Export to menu? i am trying to do the same thing, and I am having the same issue.

Hi! What release of Inventor are you running? OBJ export should be supported starting from 2015 or 2016. If you still cannot find it, you may need to use Inventor Reset Utility (All Programs -> Autodesk -> Inventor 20xx -> Tools) to reset all settings back to install default. Please note that all prior settings and customization will be reset.

Many thanks!

I am using inventor 2016. I have checked again, and this file format is not available. Is it possible it's only available in version 2018?

Hi! I just checked Inventor 2016 and 2017. Indeed, obj export was not available on 2016. It started in 2017.

Many thanks!
