Good day everyone,

I want to export from Inventor to Tekla. I use ifc but it goes to Tekla without data (as a reference) .
Do we have other way or better way? Thanks in advance.

Hi!

Try with another format, but before that...

Check what formats that Tekla can import: STEP, RVT, RFA...

Probably there's a proper way to load models in tekla... check if you have other ways to import files, instead of open as reference.
Sorry, i don't know Tekla so well, but i can say that step or ifc formats have some metadata inside.

Hi Mahmoud, you can send to IFC through two ways. Through 'export building components' you will get a single element with properties. The properties must be assigned in the 'author building components' command also on the BIM content ribbon.

In Inventor 2026, you can also export to IFC through the simplify command and include all the properties you select in the 'Include Properties' command, also on the BIM content ribbon.

IFC would be the preferred route to Tekla.
