Export DXF options

I do not have a save as or export to dxf in Inventor 2018.

Ideas?

Hi! Inventor DXF export is limited to 2D geometry. You can export a 2D sketch, a planar face, a flat pattern, and idw/dwg file. See the following technical document.

What environment are you trying to export DXF?

Many thanks!

Thank you for responding.  Your comments made me think about what I was doing.  I designed a robotic cell and placed it in a .idw file but still could not save it as a dxf until I right clicked on the .iam file and changed the Section Participation from Section to None.  I could then save as a dxf file.

I did not have to do that in previous versions.

Thanks for your help.

Hi! Is the drawing view a raster view? If you right-click on the view icon in the browser or graphics window, do you see an option "Make View Precise"? If yes, the view is a raster view, not a precise view. I don't think Inventor supports exporting raster views to DWG/DXF.

Many thanks!
