Error using split tool on curved surface

I have a series of patterns that I'd like to emboss as holes, but first I would split them along 3D lines. Whenever I split through, a certain section (the top half of the structure is just a half circle) appears to perform the split underneath the surface so I can not perform a thicken/emboss correctly.

If it were my design - I would dramatically simplify Sketch4 using only tangent arcs or minimum node splines.

I would definitely not use those segmented line curves.

Sketch4 is a projection of a 2D sketch above the curved surface. That sketch is topographic data I turned into vector lines. Should I simplify that 2D sketch or the 3D one?

I didn't dig deep - I assumed you wrapped the 2D sketch as a 3D sketch.

In any case - I would simplify - it doesn't look aesthetically pleasing to me.

Hi! These curves are not projected to the part faces. As a result, they cannot split the faces properly. All downstream modeling operations are affected by it.

Many thanks!
