Error Message: The system cannot find the specified.

Dear all,

I have just used the Frame Generator on another assembly. Then I created another assembly (Pipeline) and did use the same frame generator. Apparently, while trying to save the Assembly drawing I am getting this error. (The system cannot find the specified file.) What does this mean?

I am using Autodesk Product Design Suit Inventor 2012 64bit edition on windows 7

Appreciate any assistance to the matter.

Thank you

First..  Do you have a live connection to this "N" drive?

Secondly I'm concern that you have these parts buried too deep (meaning a long path name - too many characters)...  Why so deep?

Update: I roughly counted (using your image) the characters within your path and file name for these failed frame members, it appears you have a total of 257 characters and for Windows the max is 260..  I think this is your main reason..  So I have to wonder why you need to bury this so deep in sub-folders upon sub-folders and upon sub-folders?  Smiley Wink

Finally are those parts actually located in that location if you looked at that path in Windows Explorer?

Hi Mark,

Yes, I do have.

With regards to the too many charcater, it is the companies system to easily track the drawings.

I was just wondering why? As I have the similar assembly and same number of characters but, i do not encounter any problem.

In my opinion that's not an easy way of tracking drawings or files.  Smiley Wink That's so deeply buried..  But I don't work for your company so I don't have to worry about navigating all those folders to get to a specific file.
Anyhow, too me that sounds like your issue.   For a test move the files up a few folders and see if it can find them.
