Error 1905.

When installing Inventor Professional 2018 on my PC, I encountered Error 1905.

"Error 1905.Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\Autodesk Design Review 2013\EComposite\EPlotViewer.dll failed to unregister. HRESULT -2147220472. Contact your support personnel."

I had a previous version of Inventor installed, but uninstalled it to update.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It probobly caused by non-admin operation, would you mind try below step.

  • Right mouse click on the setup.exe and select Run as Administation

Technically, it is a permission issue that does not let one of the files unregister itself.

Hope it helps a little bit.

Hi! The error does not make sense to me. Do you still have any Autodesk Application relying on Autodesk Design Review 2013? Inventor 2018 install includes the latest Autodesk Design Review (newer than 2013). You may want to uninstall Autodesk Design Review 2013 and see if Inventor install can proceed.

Many thanks!

I shut my PC down for the night and woke up to the issue having resolved itself. Not sure why, but I'm not complaining! Hopefully the issue does not manifest itself later in a more destructive way.

Thank you for your help though!
