I'm trying to create FR4 (flame retardant version of G10 or Garolite) in the Inventor Materials Library. Inventor is asking for some pretty standard information like the Young's Modulus, Poisson's Ratio and Shear Modulus. Unfortunately MatWeb does not provide this seemingly basic information. Has anyone figured out how to extract useful (meaningful) values from MatWeb to feed into Inventor?
Mechanical Properties Metric English Comments
| Hardness, Rockwell R | 117 | 117 | ASTM D785 |
| Tensile Strength at Break | 46.9 MPa | 6800 psi | ASTM D638 |
| Tensile Strength, Yield | 48.3 MPa | 7000 psi | ASTM D638 |
| Elongation at Break | 20 % | 20 % | ASTM D638 |
| Elongation at Yield | 6.0 % | 6.0 % | ASTM D638 |
| Flexural Strength | 72.4 MPa | 10500 psi | ASTM D790 |
| Flexural Modulus | 2.21 GPa | 320 ksi | ASTM D790 |
Izod Impact, Notched | 0.801 J/cm @Temperature -30.0 °C | 1.50 ft-lb/in @Temperature -22.0 °F | ASTM D256 |
| 2.67 J/cm @Temperature 22.8 °C | 5.00 ft-lb/in @Temperature 73.0 °F | ASTM D256 | |
| Gardner Impact | 14.1 J | 10.4 ft-lb | ASTM D3029 |
I've taken the Tensile Strength, English values as Yield and Ultimate Stress Values under Tensile Strength in Inventor
But for the remaining values, I'm at a loss.
