Emboss

Hi

Is there any way to scribe in Autodesk? I tried to emboss, but I am forced to choose a non-zero depth (0 depth is what I need). My desire is to split up a surface into 2 surfaces.

Thanks

Dylan

Uhm, why not use the Split tool?

Can you attach your file here?

Hi! It is doable but the workflow is not as straightforward as it should be. The quickest way I can think of is to make two parts. One is the target body. The other one is the emboss toolbody. Next put them in an assembly. Then derive the assembly with "Keep seam" option.

Like I said, the workflow is not that straightforward. There might be simpler workflow depending on the geometry. Please attach the model you have here or send it to me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like to take a look.

Thanks!
