Hello,

So i am currently doing an intership in a small company where we make panels with some inscriptions, this panel have a lot of emboss works because just using one was taking an eternity, i would like to know if someone can help to understant why emboss feature take to much time to do a simple process of just only applying letters to a flat surface, I add the file in case anyone can help me, curretly the modifications that need to be done are:

1. change CCU#1 DRAWER to  #2

2. uncover the Holes on the sides.

Just doing one of the modification make the Pc enter in a not working mode.

Thanks for your time,

Daniel Aldana.

Yeah, same problem here, as soon as the sketch is finished the PC keeps running high without recovery. I'll blame it partially in Inventor, but the design workflow seems also flawed.

In every sketch, the projected loops that you don't use for cutting but only as a reference should be used once to define and constrain a single point. That's it, you shouldn't need more than that. Don't keep all these projected loops all over the place or else Inventor seems to get into a loop where each sketch is referencing every previous sketch, and it takes forever to recover.

Hi Daniel and Gabriel,

This is an interesting model. The part is a plate, not a cylinder or a cone. There is no need to use Emboss in this case. Extrude should work fine. Emboss operation is quite compute intensive. Basically, Inventor has to project the selected profiles to the face and split the face. Then thicken the split face accordingly.

Many thanks!

Hello Everyone,

Regarding the fact to make the embossing at the end when the sketch is more or less in the final phase is a bit difficult because customers may add some changes, then the loops are given because of the projected geometry I need to verify the final assembly in order to check if the letters are in the right position, finally for the replacement of embossing with extrusion may not help in my case because in the munufacturing phase the technicians will have to see that this part will go in a laser cutting and inside these will be a varnishing process.

Thanks for your time,

Daniel Aldana.
