Hi

I am finding it hard to create a flat pattern from a sheet metal part. A dialog box is showing up to edit sheet metal rules. Please find the attached .

Thanks

Hello @baliasM74U3,

Go to Sheet Metal Defaults, set the thickness = 2mm, then, you are all set.

Hope it helps!

Hi! Xun is right. The issue here is the thickness setting in the active sheet metal rule is different than the actual body thickness. If you need it to be 3mm, you need to thicken the body to 3mm. Or, you need to go to Manage -> Styles Editor -> Sheet Metal Rule -> change the thickness setting in the sheet metal rule. Or, like Xun mentioned, override the thickness in Sheet Metal Default.

Many thanks!

Hi! The second part has an issue because the solid body has "Follow Defaults" option off. Go to Solid folder -> right-click on the solid body -> Set Sheet Metal Rule -> check "Follow Defaults."

Do you want the thickness to be 2mm or 3mm? Or, you want have 3mm in the source part, while the derived part has 2mm?

Many thanks!

First of all, make sure the flat pattern is created in the sheet metal part and saved. Then, place the part in the drawing and select the flat pattern as sheet metal view.

Hope it helps!
