I have something strange happening with a frame - when i right click on a member or FG operation i get no option to "edit with frame generator" or "delete with frame generator".

Has anyone experienced this before? Is there any fix?

Hi! Was this Frame created in a different assembly and you were trying to use it in another assembly? If yes, this will not work. Frame Gen, Cable&Harnes, and Tube&Pipe are context sensitive. The parts you create in the assembly can stay in that context only. You can reuse it but the editability will be gone.

Many thanks!

I was having the same issue. Couldnt really find a solution, but it seems to be just a glitch. Close out of inventor and reboot your PC. Mine came back after a reboot.

Based on the image, you're top level assembly is activated.  Frame generator functions would not be available until you activate the Frame Assembly... or am I seeing the image wrong?

It should give you the option to "edit or delete using frame generator" whenever you right-click on a member in your browser whether youre in the top level assembly, or in the frame assembly that gets generated. This is because the sketches and reference components used to create the frame are created in the top level assembly youre creating.

Hi! The behavior does not look right. As long as the frame is created (not re-inserted or replaced or demoted) within the same assembly, it should work. It looks like a bug to me. Please share the files here. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi.

Did anyone ever get anywhere with this?

I've just opened a frame generated part in Inventor 2023 and I also have no "Edit in Frame Generator" option.

I've attached a pack and go of the frame.

There should be a parent assembly. The frame assembly is primarily a fictitious creation of Inventor for the purpose of organizing data.

Ah! Brilliant, thank you.

I found the master assembly and now the Edit in Frame Generator link is there.

Cheers.
