Edge offset - inventor

Hello guys!

I am struggling with one problem.

The section of the model looks like on the picture below marked with white line

Yellow line is what i want. As you see simply offset command will not help me..  I need only thicker tip

Anyone knows how to solve the problem it? The solid part is created using "stitch command" so I can work on surface as well. Of course we are talking about Inventor. I have only made simply sketch of the model section in AC.

Hi! I am sorry I am a bit confused. The image you attached is in AutoCAD but you are talking about a problem in Inventor. Do you mind sharing an example exhibiting the behavior? I am more than happy to take a look.

Many thanks!

Hi.

I have sth like this

But I want something like this:

The point is to add the material only at the tip. But of course I am not able to change sketches. The real model I want to change is very irregular, therefore i have no idea how to solve it.

Here is the picture of the model which i want to change.

Hi! I think I get what you are trying to do. Indeed, the ability to offset sketch with topological change is not supported. It is because such change can lead to under-defined constraint and dimension based on how offset sketch is implemented. You could use Thicken/Offset command to create an offset surface instead. Then project the edges from the offset surface to the sketch. If you cannot figure it out, please feel free to attach an example so forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!

Hi! Many thanks for sharing the file! I think I know what you are trying to do. But, I am not sure why the sliver face is needed. I did manage to create a shell on the solid including the sliver face with thickness override. Could you take a look and let me know if more information is needed.

Many thanks!
