Dynamic Simulation with a Framework Assembly

Hi,

I’m just wondering whether dynamic simulation is supported within a Framework Assembly. I’ve noticed that the icon is greyed out, and I haven’t found a straightforward way to convert the Framework Assembly into a regular one.

The only workaround I’ve seen so far is creating a new assembly file and importing the framework as a subassembly—but that seems a bit time-consuming and inefficient.

If anyone could shed some light on this, I’d really appreciate it.

Hi Nishan,

This is a limitation. The editability to a frame subassembly is limited. It is because a frame subassembly has to be within the hosting assembly context where it was originally created. It helps keep full associativity.

Yes, you need to place it in another assembly or perform the analysis in the hosting assembly. Or simply save the hosting assembly as a different iam file for running Dynamic Simulation purpose.
