DWG drawing geometry

We recently began using dwg template for drawings in Inventor vs idw.  When you open the dwg in autocad the geometry is almost non existent.  You can measure it but you can't copy it.   Causing a lot of issues for your shop.

Thanks,

Hi Michael,

A few things to consider. You may use AutoCAD to create associative drawing views for Inventor components. The command is called VIEWBASE.

Or you may export the Inventor drawing to an AutoCAD dwg. Or you may open the Inventor dwg file in AutoCAD and use EXPORTLAYOUT to export the sheet to an AutoCAD dwg file.

Many thanks!
