Dropdown menu issue

Hi,

Anybody else having this issue where the dropdown menu doesn't fully show when you right click on an item in the design tree? It doesn't do it if I right click the actual part. I'm hoping there's a setting I can change and not a bug I have to wait to be solved. It's on 2025, I've just downloaded it recently to open a 2025 file and I already regret that decision!

You have the latest update installed? There is a 2025.1

The update isn't showing in my Access or desktop connector so just clicked into the topic on here and seen I have to uninstall my current software and then reinstall the updated version. My internet isn't good enough for that at the minute so I'll just have to suffer on. Not a great update introduction though!

I've gone onto my account and downloaded the update, still having the same issues with the dropdown menu though unfortunately

You dont have to uninstall anything to update. The autodesk desktop app or whatever its call now should show you any updates, but you should be able to get them from the manage.autodesk site. If you go to help>about autodesk inv, it may have downloaded the version with the .1 already. I am not on 2025 I just was asking.

Hi, I don't suppose you're using a virtual machine are you? This is the only way we can reproduce your issue.

Another thing to try is making sure Inventor in maximised, but that didn't seem to have an effect on my machine either, but I'm running Windows 10 not 11.

Hi James,

No I'm not running Inventor on a virtual machine and it's installed on my primary drive. There are partitions on my drive and my data goes on a seperate partition to the partition Inventor is installed on. It's really odd as only the top level parts/assemblies in the main assembly don't reposition the dropdown. If I right click a part in a sub-assembly it does reposition the dropdown. Seems very unusual. I do also have Inventor maximised.

I'm not sure then sorry, I can't see this issue on my end and I also asked a colleague.

Hi! A few things to try.

- Go to Windows Display Settings and select the recommended resolution and scale.

- Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> "Change High DPI settings" -> check both boxes.

- Click on the three-bar menu on the top of the browser -> uncheck "Auto Scroll."

Many thanks!

Hi, Thanks for your suggestions but unfortunately none of them have worked. I would expect these suggestions to work if the drop down menu was not showing correctly for all items but it seems to only effect the child parts of an assembly. What's strange is that it only happens on the parts in the working assembly, everything lower down works as it should.

Hi! Another thing to look into. Are you using dual monitors? If yes, please make sure the display hosting Inventor is the primary monitor.

Many thanks!

Hi, thanks again for more suggestions but just using it on a single laptop screen at the minute.

Hi! Lastly, close Inventor and try creating environment variables (Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables).

Create "QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR" and set it to 0.

Create "QT_SCALE_FACTOR" and set it to 1.

Does it work better now?

Many thanks!

I really appreciate the effort you're putting in but even adding those variables, it's still not working as it should.
