Hello,

Very strange behavior. Since updated inventor 2017 to 2021 drawings shaded view lost precision.

All elbow "curves" appear polygonal and the bitmap resolution is on the maximum. see picture

Probably so obvious that you've already tried it before posting here, but I'll ask it anyway just in case it was overlooked.

Are your graphics drivers up to date?

Or how about.. Tools application options..hardware tab.. check the box for "use software graphics" the restart Inventor?

Or have you tried right clicking on the view and select "make view raster" and then right click on it again and select "make view precise?

Can you Attach the files here?

(Only need the Elbow, Assembly and Drawing - verify that after removing the extraneous stuff that the behavior persists.)

Open the Elbow.

Go to Manage>Rebuild All and then save.

Go back to the drawing and you will get a Update view message.

(I had to do this with the other parts as well.)

Not sure why this works or exactly what the issue was.

Hi Hugo,

I am also on 2021.2. Here is what I saw. Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and graphics driver is updated. Another thing to try, right-click on the view -> Make View Raster. Then repeat it but select "Make View Precise." Does it look better now?

Many thanks!

The only way to resolve the problem is to do a Rebuilt all on the piping run subassembly. I tried to update the piping run on the design data piping folder and also rebuilt all because a suspect that the problem was in this file but I need to rebuilt all each time when I create a new run.

Hi Hugo,

Another possibility is the elbow ipt or the iam file may have an option unchecked. Go to the top-level assembly -> Tools -> Doc Settings -> Modeling -> check "Maintain Enhanced Graphics Detail." You may need to do Rebuild All once and save it. After that, it should persist.

Many thanks!

Hello Jonson,

The settings  "Maintain Enhanced Graphics Detail" is already checked. I opened an Autodesk case yesterday with all details, CaseNo:17268494. It's a very strange behavior that I can reproduce on more than one computer

Hi Hugo,

One more thing to check. Go to Tools -> App Options -> Hardware. What is it set to? Mine is set to Quality.

Many thanks!

Hello Johnson, Yes same for me. The problem is now on the Autodesk development, they are able to reproduce this problem 50% of time. The actual workaround is the rebuilt all of the piping assembly. Thanks
