Drawing Parts List Issues - Zeros, Units & Unit QTY

I have iParts with variable lengths.  A custom parameter for length is exported & set up to have no trailing zeros.

The BOM in the assembly is OK.

The Parts List in the drawing has some formatting issues that I can't seem to fix.

Is there a way to resolve these issues?

Hey, great question.  Let's see what we can do....

If you edit your Parts List on the drawing, and right mouse click on the column, choosing Format Column, is the button "Apply Units Formatting" checked?  If not, try checking this button and then you should be able to tweak the settings for how that column is displayed in your table.

I hope this solves the issue for you.  Thanks!

Hi, and thanks for replying.

That tip partially solves the issue for the QTY column, only if all of the items are length based.

I see that there is a substitution tab on that format box.

I thought that I could set a preference there to manage a length parameter vs any other type, but there isn't anything available in the list of properties to do that.

There is however the property ITEM QTY & the option to select "sum of values".  This seems to solve the Unit QTY part of my question.

I'll need to see how this performs across various drawings & parts lists where different assemblies & sub-assemblies are present, but it looks like this might actually be a solution.

Still a shame that the default QTY format cannot be set to 0 decimal points for length.

It's true that trying to be flexible with options sometimes ends up appearing more complex to some users.  I hope that this solution can work for you moving forward.  Please let us know how it turns out, and feel free to mark the solution (even if it is your own reply), for future searches.  Good luck, let us know how it goes!

Hi @arkelec

This was previously solved.
