Ok this is now doing my nut in, in Inventor drawing how do you get just a cross axis for a hole on a PCD to point to the centre of the PCD.
I don't want the PCD to be part of the axis if this makes sense....
I'm not sure I understand you correctly. Do you want this, or only the crosses?
To my knowledge, you would have to do that using a sketch. I see no way to turn off the centerline geometry.
Here's how I did it
Create a sketch and do a circular pattern
I thought that this was the case, I can't believe how useless Inventor drawing really is......

You can do this with the basic centreline command by picking the hole & then the O.D. but it's a bit tedious. For each hole, you have to drag the end of the c/line back towards the centre (you can't drag it past the centre) & also delete the surplus centreline at 90° to the main one. (Why does it even do that? I can't think of any time I've needed that extra line).
