hii

I have trouble trying to figure out why when i drag the body by any of the straight edges, i only get a 1 axis movement, be it vertical or horizontal, but not both at once..

however when i drag it by the circular surface, i can move the solid in whichever direction i want.. both axis simultaneously as wish .. why ?  pls look at my attached video to understand what i meant.

2.  this sketch keep saying needs 2 more dimension, but i just can't find what else dimension i am missing.. all are well labeled.

3. how am i suppose to "dock" the body at the origin datum ? right now although i have drag the item to dock at the origin, but, i still can drag it around..

thanks.

btw, forum doesn't allow me to attach a wmv file.. how you guys attach video file in the forum.  ?

Hi

Your sketch is missing one constraint.

easy fix:

Drag your sketch over to one side. (It's just easier in this instance, as everything is almost fully constrained)

Project the Origin Center point, using the Project Geometry tool.

Using the Coincident constraint, constrain the center of the circle to the Projected Center point.

All done.

as @rhasell says, The problem is that your sketch isn't constrained in the space.

In regards to the videos, lookup Autodesk Screencast - That is how people attach a video to their post.

@Anonymous

Andrew.. Go to tools..application options.. sketch tab and check the box for "Autoproject part origin on sketch create"

Then get in the habit of using that sketch point to center/constrain all your sketches to it..

Like shown in these 2 generic videos..
