Disappearing Parts while Rendering, IV10

When I hit render, a piece of my robot just nonchalantly removes itself from my animation. I let it render 10 frames or so and check the output and sure enough its not there. What is going on with this?

While Im here which compression is the best and is it possible to record the animation without rendering?

"Record animation without rendering"

It's on the wishlist.

"Disappearing Parts"

Did you do a fade on the parts with a setting of "instant"?

Is the robot from the sdotson website?

I downloaded one of the robots form there and it has the same problem when
rendered.

Must be a dodgy model I suppose

It is only one part.

Open the part. Save as step. and import back in.
All should be okay. If not I will post the part for you.

I cant remember if I got it from Dotson or not. But I did figure out how to "fix" it. I right clicked the assembly and picked component selection , external components, and then changed the value down 99%. Rerendered and it worked fine. Its a work around but it worked around fine.
