Disable auto Drawing view 'Hatching'

Hi

When creating a section view of a part the "Hatching" option is automatically enabled. Our company standard does not show the hatching by default.

I have to edit each view and disable hatching. (Drawing View, Display options, Hatching)

Is there a way to disable this option as default? (Perhaps I missed a setting in the Styles editor?)

iLogic code is also acceptable.

Thanks.

Personally i'd think a section without hatching would be unclear, but if i had to achieve it by default i'd probably make a hatch style with no lines and set that as the hatch type in the object defaults...

Thanks.

I like that idea. I will give it a go this evening.

Yes, sometimes the company standards have been a bit trying, as inventor
can't always achive what I require by default.

On the plus side, I have learnt more than I normally would have.

I just did a bit of research and it looks like it's impossible to make a hatch pattern without any lines.
(as soon as i make a custom .pat file with all values set to 0 inventor doesn't recognize it as a pattern anymore... which would be logical in a sense.)

So.... maybe another possible workaround would be to pick one of the existing patterns with just dots and scale it up to impossible proportions. (scale over a 1000 or higher.)
That way it would be unlikely to ever see anything more that a single dot in a hatched area...

Hi all,

As Neils has already stated, you could make your custom hatch super spaced (x1000).

but you could also just turn off the 'Plot' within styles so it would not print, as you may want to see cross

hatching while your actually working with section views.

Hope this helps

That's also an option. By default it's more off than on, so I will just
change the settings per as required. Which I would do with a custom hatch
pattern as well.

Both workable solutions for the moment. Thanks.
