Dimension to circle edge in detail drawing

I am using Inventor 2017. I need to dimension to the edge of a circle and cant grab ahold of it.  I have tried sketches, projecting geometry, using alt, shift and ctrl.  I am at a loss.  The dimension snaps to the center each time.  I know how to do this in SolidWorks but can't get it done in Inventor.

The attached screen print shows what I am trying to do.  I need to dimension the depth of the slot on shaft.

Works fine here (Inventor 2017). Right click in your dimension command and check your snap settings.

No image attached there, don't reply with your email account, go directly to the forum.

Also when selecting you don't just grab the circle anywhere, you need to move your mouse to where you see a green dot selecting that quadrant.

There is no green dot.  I have a feeling that there isn't enough "circle" available to snap with the two slots.

Please notice that I have two slots on my shaft section.

Yup, not a problem, in this screencast you will see me locate the tangent and then dimension to it.  In this scenario I have to wait for the right glyph to appear.

Also I am on Inventor 2017 R3, but this should be the same in RTM.  Ignore the fact I hit CTRL twice I do that out of habit as a cursor locator.

I had to use ctrl, ctrl otherwise it wouldn't work.  I have it now.  Thank you.

Also, I think your Centermark is getting in the way of getting this glyph.  Move the grip of the CM and then place the Dim and move it back.

I noticed that and removed the center mark.  Something so simple was so hard!  Smiley Happy

I needed to delete all centerlines for that to work.  That means all related dimensions were deleted too.
