Dimension in drawing not updating properly

One of our users has an intermittant problem whereby, if he modifys a part sketch dimension, the corrosponding drawing does not update to the new size unless he closes and re-opens the drawing.

I have tried the same part and drawing on several machines and the drawing updates correctly as it should.

The only "fix" was to reboot the PC.

Is this a bug?

Using IV 2015 Pro, all udates and patches up to date.

THA.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and ask the obvious, did you click on the "Update" or "Update all Sheets" icons in the quick access tool bar?

LOL...was hoping you did, but ya never know.

I take it it is only happening on his machine? I know you stated you tried it on others but just wanted to verify it's been narrowed down to the one installation.

I would first attempt a repair install of Inventor and see if that catches and fixes it.

If not, you may have to do a re-install.

Can you post the file(s)?

As mentioned, it was "fixed" by a reboot.

The install in question is functioning fine now.

Just wondered if it was a fixable bug?

So it's not happening anymore?

I can't say its a bug per sey, never heard or seen it before, but the fact that a reboot fixed it, I'd say something was "hung up" somewhere along the lines.

How often do you all shut down your stations? Not just reboot, or hibernate, I mean a complete shut down.

How about defrag, not just the machine's HD but also defraging the CAD files (using the Task Scheduler's Migrate option)?

We're monitoring the situation, but we shut out machines down every day, and defrag once a week.

One of our operators reports the same issue on another machine, which prompted the reboot.

I guess we'll just keep an eye on it.

I know you said you are ...however ..are you sure it's all updated ... I've seen it tons of times that one isn't completely up to date...

How repeatable is it?

Are these Iparts via a table? If so does this pc have Excel installed (not Office 365) I know you said he changes the sketch ...

I see that the rebuild /update all was asked ...

Might just be easier to do a repair install and see if it happens again, vs waiting and waiting and waiting for it to happen again.

Hi Colin,

I agree with Jim. If we can get a reproducible data with steps in the future, please do send it to me. I will be happy to investigate. If a reboot has fixed, its mostly probably a minor glitch at the moment.
