Dimension Draft

I am having trouble grabing the dimensions for a drafted (& heavily radius-ed) part. See pictures.

"pic 1" shows what the feature looks like in the .ipt, creation view.

"pic 2" shows what the feature looks like in the .idw, drawing view.

It won't let me point to the radii or any dimension that I want.

Phil,

Welcome to the forum.

Did you try inserting the dimensions from the model into the drawing?

Cadmanto,

Thanks for the suggestion. But it looks like that didn't work. I ended up with the image attached (pic3).

It was the dimensions for the features it could already see.

By the way, the view looks like this if not shaded (pic4).

IMO, there are two issues:

At first, set Tangent edges displayed in IDW view.

But even if you have set this, your applied fillets are not in 2D area, but are tilted against it.

Perhaps setting fillets to True would help out.

Attach your sample for a test.

WH,

Thanks! That's exactly what it was. I clicked "Tangent Edges" and it worked out (pic5).

It's not pretty with all those lines, but it's what I need.

Side note, it's annoying that I have to go to the "Base View", because all projected/alternate views will have a greyed out "Tangent Edges" box. But it's only a minor inconvenience at this moment.
