Design Suite Ultimate - Inventor Professional 2016 - Drawing Issue

Our company has just upgraded to Design Suite Ultimate - Inventor Professional 2016 and Vault Professional 2016. It has been running fine until this issue. Steps as follows led me to this glitch:

- copy designed a previous assembly in the vault.

- get new files and check them out

- update part models to new geometry required

- save all models

- open assembly model do an update with new components. 

- verify assembly model constraints, all looks good

- open assembly drawing update all sheets

- a couple dimensions was missing so I added them and changed them to in[mm] | Limits-Stacked. The Inches will change precision but the metric will not change to any precion other than 1 decimal point.

I asked one of the other engineers to duplicate this on a different drawing and his work station has the same issue.

Any help would be nice.

Same results here...  I would log a case with Autodesk to report this.

I ran into the same thing. I changed the alternate dim tolerance precision in styles editor and the drawing updated properly.

That's what I thought it was at first but even when I changed it here's the results I'm seeing

It was a couple of days ago so memory is a bit fuzzy.
Also I was doing Deviation not Stacked, so that might be a difference, too.

We have a standard practice that all of our customer are used to seeing on our drawings are the Limits-Stacked. I'm actually working on a new special for a customer that I had to get a pproval from them to send them a drawing with only Inches called outon the bearing. This not only makes our company look inadequate it is an embarrassing waste of time to have to deal with that part of the issue. On the other hand I understand that a product made by humans is bound too have a flaw or too it is part of our nature...no one is perfect. The Inventor software is wonderful and I have used it since version 5. It has grown by leaps and bounds and I applaude the work Autodesk has done.

Doug, Thanks for the input. Sorry too hear you have this issue as well. My work around for this was to create new layer style for each decimal place. It's an extra step on each dimension once the style is part of our style library...  but it gets the job done and I can go about my day. Hopefully Autodesk has a cure for this in the near future.

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

There's been some updates and mid-year releases for Inventor 2016 since this posting.   I would have to test to see if the latest updates have resolved this issue.

What level is your Inventor 2016?

I'm currently running Inventor 2016 SP2 which was released after the mid-year release of Inventor 2016 R2 and R3.   Unless I missing something from the original issue, it appears the issue has been resolved but not sure when it was resolved.

Yes it was resolved in the last SP for 2016.  The Support Ticket was never updated to inform me it was fixed, it was just closed or canceled by Autodesk. Not sure why they did that. Sort of annoying to be left out of the loop after a cure was found.

That's the release to manufacturing version or the original release.

We just downloaded and installed the SP's for 2016 and our problem was solved...
