Good day people,
I want to update my parts using Design Assistant. This can also include copying, replacing and maintaining files. However, all parts are being greyed out (see Figure 1) and I've also got a migration warning for the assembled components (see Figure 2).
Figure 1: the greyed out parts, none of the parts can be clicked
Figure 2: migration warning for the related parts
A workaround or tips/tricks or helps regarding these issues would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Willy Muller

You'll need to migrate the files to the same version as Design Assistant.
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your answer!
Do you mean I have to migrate every single part manually? Or is there any workaround to it?
Hi Willy,
you can use Autodesk Task Scheduler to automate the migration of multiple files and then use Design Assist

This is only one assembly that contains less that 20 parts. But another assembly has more than 100 parts and these need to be updated as well. Is there any possible way to do this update rather quick and more efficient (hence not done manually) using tools within Autodesk Inventor itself. Thank you.
Hi Ali,
Thank you for your solution. I'd like to know if Vault is required to perform the Task Scheduler?

I use "Migrate-On-Demand"; option 2. from below (in other words, I never force a migration; but that's just me):

Hi Mluterman,
Thank you for that solution. I'll try it out tomorrow and see whether it works with my circumstances or not (not having Vault).

there is also PowerPack for Inventor that allows you to automate this process per assembly for all its parts and sub-components
