Design Accelerated Spring Issues

Hi there,

I've just made a compression spring using the design accelerator tool in an assembly. I wish to put this spring into another assembly and rename it. When I rename it while the part is closed, it works; when I open the part the name within is still the design accelerator given name. Are there hidden links in the spring that I need to break? I am just trying to make it so the spring is like any other part I have created myself.

Any help would be very appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi d.boy,

If I am understanding correctly, I think you can just edit the name in the browser, and delete the old name. Inventor will fill the name back in with the actual/current file name when you press enter, or click off of the browser node.
