My derived parts has stopped updating automatically.  I change a value and i have to go to each part and edit the derived component and select "OK" and then it will update.  So what has all of a sudden changed?

You haven't suppressed the derive link have you?

Have you got 'defer update' switched on. Think it's in the manage ribbon?

No, the suppressed link was not an issue.
Yes, the “defer update” in the assembly was off, but did not solve my problem at the part level.

Shouldn't have to do this, but instead of going into each part you should be able to do a 'rebuild all'

Hi! This sounds like a bug to me. What release are you on? Have you applied the latest updates? Please share the files here or with me directly [email protected]. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Sorry for the delay been a little busy, anyhow yes I’ve already tried the “rebuild all” and no that did not work. I’m hoping that sometime today I can get back to that design and see what I can see about this problem.

Hi Kenneth,

I believe we had an issue in 2020, particularly with cylindrical geometry. It does not happen all the time but it can happen to some files. What release are you on?

Many thanks!

Inventor 2022, it doesn’t change automatically when we change either end to a different size or length.

I use what I call a “driving sketch” as a single point to change the sizes and lengths of the assembly.
I still haven’t had time to get back to it.
