Delete/Add key to existing iPart

I'm trying to do some updates to an existing cap screw iPart.  What I want to do is add some part numbers, delete some numbers, change a key, or delete the existing key and add the new one.  I'm kind of stuck however.  It seems that whenever I mess with the keys it wants to screw up all the children.  When I try to update one of the children I get the error that a member is no longer valid and then I lose constraints.  Specifically if I change the name of a key or add a new key I get this error. 

Now I think I may have found a work around.  If I add a new column and then update children and then go back and make it a key and then update children it does not give me the update member error.  I haven't tested if constraints hold yet.

Has anyone seen this before and possibly have a solution?

Never seen it.. never use keys..

Did you remove the "File name" setting from the member column?

It might just need to be done in a specific order to avoid confusion..

Hard to know exactly which steps you took to get to that error state.. screencast it?
