Defining a Sweep path after a pattern

Hello I'm trying to pattern a sweep I have created within a trapezoid. Is there a way to extend the sweep path to the next entity after the pattern is completed? Or a better way to do this?Sweep2.PNGSweep3.PNG

I have no idea what this means.

Perhaps if you Attach your *.ipt file here - I will have a better understanding.

I have attached a basic version of what I am trying to do.

I am trying to find a way to make it easy so I do not have to make 20 different sweeps. If that makes sense.

I think you are trying to edit the sweep after it has been patterned?

You can do this by expanding everything and changing the sketches.

For the sake of a few clicks it's usually easier to just delete the pattern and redo it after.

Yes and no, in the picture below the blue highlighted box is the original sweep. The rest below that is a rectangular pattern with 18 features spaces 1/2" apart. See the gab on the left  that is circled in red, because its a rectangular pattern it references the original sweep path and length. I guess I'm asking is there a way to "close the Gab in red" without having to create 18 work planes and sketches? if that makes sense.

Ah, now I see what you want.

Sweep does not make sense for this feature.

Back in a few minutes - meanwhile I recommend that you install the Updates for 2019.

See Attached.

You don't need the drafts, you can just draw the trapeze as a sketch and offset to get the inside hole.

Do you want to have the ends of slats at an angle to match the frame or parallel?

This will give you angled to match the frame cut out:

Looking at JD's screenshot, he's done it differently so it'll be interesting to see what he comes back with.

Hi! I don't believe Inventor support such varying pattern with Sweep feature. However, it can be done use From-To Extrusion and Rectangular Pattern (with Adjusted Compute Method). See below images.

Many thanks!
