Default Drawing Base View - Model Properties

In my drawing template, I have the title block setup to exact information from the default base view (part numbers, titles, etc.).  On occasion, I might insert a file for illustrative purposes on another sheet of the drawing.  For example, let’s say I'm creating a drawing for part number 1234.  However, of sheet 4, I use part number 5678 do illustrate something relative to part number 1234.  Because part 5678 is only illustrating something relative to 1234, I want the title block to read 1234.  Normally I trick it by inserting a base view of part 1234 outside of the title block before inserting 5678 inside the title block for my illustration.  That way the title block will still extract all the pertinent information from 1234 and look like just another sheet from the same drawing pack.  Sometimes I make a mistake and insert 5678 first, pull off all the other views and dimensions before I realize the title block reads 5678 and not 1234.  The fix is delete all the views and start all over, or create an identical title block that I can manually type in the information.  The problem is if the information for 1234 ever changes, say 1234 becomes ABC-1234, I need to remember to go back and manually update that field.  There must be an easier way.  I was hoping it could be as simple as changing the order of views in my browser, but no such luck.  Any ideas?

Try this:

  1. Create a "throwaway".idw
  2. Cut your 5678 views (CTRL-X) from the "keeper".idw and paste (CTRL-V) them in "throwaway".idw.
  3. Place your 1234 view
  4. Copy your 5678 views from the "throwaway".idw back to your "keeper".idw.

You could also create your "throwaway".idw and add a view of 1234.  Then copy the 5678 views to it.  Finally, copy the entire sheet from "throwaway".idw back to "keeper".idw and delete the incorrect sheet.
