Hello. I'm using Inventor 2012 and need to design a Cylindrical Cam Segment - it's a back and forward system instead of a continuous movement like a regular cam. I've tried emboss, bend, sweep and design accelerator without sucess.
target - make follower (a cylinder) follow the path - up if cam is turned clockwise and down if turned otherside. i've also read these threads, but no solutions yet.

thank you very much for your help.

I haven't looked at your file, but -
I suspect you could simply create a cylindrical cam using the Design Accelerator that goes the entire 360° and then Sculpt to fill the unwanted portion.
greetings, JDMather.
I've done what you said, but I'm not been able to constrain the roller to path. Whem I use transitional, followers goes straight top cylinder.
Mesuring Cam (supposibly to be 20mm width), I've found 19,999 and 19,994mm widths.
Any suggestions on how can I constraind cam and follower?
thank you,
FL
